Get to Know Me
Each child is different, so my staff and I go out of our way to individualize care. Whether parents ask advice about a problem or need a referral, counseling or anything else, we try to provide it. I’m big on preventive care and parent education. Parents, especially parents of young children, need to know what to do when things come up.
Why I Treat Children
My daughter was born when I was in medical school. She is the reason I became interested in pediatrics. I find that caring for children is fun, continually interesting and challenging. I enjoy helping parents deal with the ups and downs of parenthood.
What I'm Passionate About
Convincing parents that medicating their children for everything isn’t the way to go. For example, you don’t need to administer antibiotics for every sniffle or fever or cough. What you do need to do is get your kids vaccinated so they won’t have to catch things we can prevent.
How I Try to Make A Difference
I try to engage my patients and talk to them on their level, always factoring in their age, maturity level and the situation. To put them at ease, I try to get to know them. I may ask about school, what they ate for lunch or what they like to do for fun. Another goal at our office is to try to educate and reassure parents.
