Get to Know Me

I enjoy caring for children and helping families understand how prevention and a healthy lifestyle can help prevent disease and promote healing. I am also interested in clinical research that sheds new light on keeping kids healthy. My wife and I have three children, so I appreciate the family’s essential role in decisions that affect their child.

Why I Treat Children

As a pediatric endocrinologist, I have a unique opportunity to create a healthier future for my patients and at the same time, impact the health of future generations in their family. Human genome studies are advancing knowledge of how genes change and how genetic changes affect health. My goal is to provide compassionate care based on the latest evidence in an environment where patients and families are involved in decision-making.

What I'm Passionate About

I am passionate about staying up-to-date in my field. When care and research come together, we can make real progress. I welcome challenging cases and work hard to achieve excellent results for my patients. I can usually treat any condition I diagnose. If I don’t have the answer, I work hard to find it, collaborating with colleagues at Nemours and around the country to find the best course of treatment.

How I Try to Make A Difference

It starts with making the right diagnosis. This means that I must be aware of uncommon symptoms of common diseases, as well common presentations of rare diseases. It is very gratifying to find out what is wrong so I can get a patient started on the best treatment path for them and their family.
